End of Our First Half Term
Congratulations to all the children (and parents) for making it through the first half term. It was lovely to see some of the grandparents and parents at the tea party on Thursday. It was a brilliant end to our topic and we all look forward to next half term.

Our Family
This week we have been thinking about our families. We looked at the family photos we brought in and looked at Nick Butterworth's books about family. We enjoyed 'My Dad is Brilliant'. We wrote an invite to our Grandparent's tea party, did you see it in the window? We have been focusing on the tricky word 'to' when writing our invites.
We have been becoming experts at using the resources in the classroom during Child Initiated learning. Look at what we have been doing:

Our bodies & Our senses
Over the past two weeks we have been learning about Our Bodies and Our Senses. We labelled our body parts and played a guessing game. We had to look carefully at photos and work out who they were. Can you do it?
We have also been continuing to be 'Good friends'. Look how nicely we play!
We also went on a Senses Walk, we had to use our sense of touch, sight, hearing and smell to describe the autumnal objects we found. When we got back we used or sense of taste to explore jelly. We watched Ben & Holly's jelly flood on TV, it made us laugh!
Afterwards we looked through the digital microscope at they objects we found.
We have also been looking at shapes. We focused on the properties of 2-D shapes. Circles, rectangles, triangles and squares. See if you can help your child find these shapes when you walk to school. We found lots in our classroom.
