This Half Term

Apologies, but sadly, we have had trouble with our blogging app.

Here is a glimpse of some of the wild things we've been doing as part of our topic about animals. We've been doing phonics puzzles, playing music, painting tree frogs and building with our new 'real life' blocks.

We've made play dough zoo cages and enjoyed the zoo 'home corner'. We also love exploring the iPads and are working on our sharing skills.

This week our home corner has become a Stable and the children love recreating the story of Jesus' special birth.

OUR SENSES

To celebrate the end of our topic we had a Messy Fun Day.  We learnt a new song about our senses, why don't you try it too? http://youtu.be/iA1uLc1uEbI

Today we explored the non-Newtonian substance of Gloop, foam, spaghetti sparkle and pastry. We turned the pastry into yummy, cheesy snacks that tasted and smelled delicious.

In the afternoon we explored mud. We learnt how mud is made. We had to add buckets full of water to make our muddy puddles and then the rain came!

We found lots of natural textures in the outdoor classroom and we built an amazing den out of branches.

Thank you to our parents for supporting our fun learning and sending all our spare clothes in.

Our Senses: Touch

This week we thought about 'touch'.
We explored 'cloud dough', play dough and lavender salt. We also improved our fine motor skills by threading and using the interactive white board.
In maths we have been exploring patterns, using autumnal resources with different textures.
